The Forenoon prayer (Salat ad-Duha), also known as “The Prayer of the Penitent” (Salat al-Awwabeen)

Abu Hurayrah said, “Prophet sallallahu alahi wassalam advised me to do three (things): fast three days out of every month, pray two rak’ahs in the forenoon and to perform the witr prayer before I sleep.”

Its virtures:

Abu Dharr narrated that the Prophet sallallahu alaihe wassallam said, “Every morning there is on the bones and joints of any of you a charitable act. Every saying of Subhanaalah is a charitable act; every saying of ‘Alhumdullilah is a charitiable act and every saying of ‘La illaha illallah is a charitable act; every saying ‘Allahu akbar’ is a charitable act; ordering good is a chartiable act; eradicating evil is a charitable act. To fulfill that charity, it is sufficient to pray two rakat of the forenoon.” (Muslim 364)

Its number of raka’ahs:

The minimum number of rak’ahs for the Forenoon prayer is two, based on the hadith just quoted and its maximum is eight. Umm Handi narrated that on the day of the Conqueing of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihe wassallam bathed in her house and then prayed eight rak’ahs. (Bukhari, Muslim)

The best time to perform the forenoon prayer:

Zayd ibn Arqam said that the Prophet sallallahu alaihe wassllam went out to the people of Quba and they were praying the Forenoon prayer. He said, “The prayer of the penitent is when the weaned camels feel the heat of the sun,” during the forenoon. (Muslim 368)

The Qur'an - My Companion

BE AMBITIOUS

Assalamu Alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

My friend be ambitious, keep climbing and always have hope. Beware of falling, and remember that life is minutes and seconds. From one minute to the next there could come a way out. Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm. Always keep trying, and keep repenting. If you go back to sin, then repent again. Memorize Qur’an, and if you forget it, go back and memorize it again and again. The main thing is that you should never feel defeated or frustrated, because the real failure is when you do not realize how close you were to success when you gave up. Do away with all thoughts of failure, and stop thinking of calamities and problems, for Allah, the Almighty says:

Surah Maida 5: 23 “… and put your trust in Allah if you are indeed believers.”

The only real failure in life is the failure to try and there are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. Adapt to your situation and cope with it. Peace of mind can only be acquired by accepting the worst-case scenario.
Also regretting past failures and weeping bitterly for past pain and defeat are manifestations of disbelief in Allah, and discontent with what He has decreed.

“And We shall make easy for you [O Muhammad] the easy way [i.e. the doing of righteous deeds]” (Qur’an 87:8)

Wishing you the best

Zakia Usmani: Key to Happiness

Key to Happiness

Assalamu Alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh

The first step towards happiness each day is Fajr prayer, so start your day with it, then you will be under the protection and care of Allah. He will protect you from all evils and guide you to all that is good. It is the first steps towards acceptance and success.
Happiness does not mean having lot of money in the bank, rather it is to be found in obeying Allah; it is not be found in wearing new clothes rather it is to be found in obeying Allah. Before we look at the thorn of the rose, look at its beauty. Before we complain about our problems, we must look at the blessings.

Put your trust in Allah, calls upon Him constantly and delegates all your affairs to Him and recite this dhikr, “La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (there is no power and no strength except with Allah). These great words are the secret of happiness and success. Beware of losing hope or becoming frustrated, for there is no hardship but it is followed by ease. Think positively of Allah and put your trust in Him, and wait for a way out.
Remember that in this world you will not get everything you want; there will always be some problems, sickness, adversity and trials. So be grateful at times of ease and patient at times of hardship.

We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound from worries and to relieve us of distress and anxiety, for He is the All-Hearing, Ever-Responsive, and He is the Ever-Living, Eternal.
